MKE TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS - PHOTO EXHIBITION RULES
Sponsors The sponsor of the MKE Takin' It To The Streets is Light Ideas Gallery ("LIG"), 207 E. Buffalo St., Milwaukee, WI 53202. Entry Period The Exhibition begins February 15, 2010, at 12:01 am Pacific Daylight Time ("PDT") and ends March 31st, 2010, at 11:59 pm PDT (the "Entry Deadline"). All Entries must be received by the Entry Deadline. Who May Enter The Exhibition is open to U.S. residents only. Any images submitted from outside the U.S. will not be considered for any awards. Exhibition is open to amateur or professional photographers working with digital or traditional photography. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as the date of the entry. How To Enter Please visit www.lightideasgallery.com/mketakinittothestreets/entry.html and follow the online instructions for payment and how to upload images from your computer. Images must be in JPEG format and cannot exceed 2100 pixels on their long dimension. The entries will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined below. Deadline for Entries All entries must be received before March 31, 2010. From April 1, 2010 to April 10, 2010 the judges will make their selections. Award winners will be notified on April 12, 2010. Exhibition Awards One Juror's Choice Award and Fourteen (14) Juror's Choice Favorites All winners will be printed and featured in the Gallery Night and Day event in April 2010, in a online gallery on the Light Ideas Gallery website, and the Juror's Choice Award winner in a issue of KEY Milwaukee Magazine. No award transfer, assignment or substitution by winners permitted. If an offered award is unavailable, Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a award of equal or greater value. Some restrictions apply; and each award is subject to availability. Potential winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability release, warranty of ownership and license, and a publicity release.. Void where prohibited by law. Any tax on the awards is the winner's sole responsibility. Judging The Juror's Choice Award winner will consist of two rounds of evaluation. The panel of Light Ideas Gallery experts in photography (the Judges) will review all entries on the basis of creativity, composition, originality, sense of place, and capturing the moment in relation to the exhibition "theme" (the "Judging Criteria"). In the first round each individual judge will select the top five (5) in their opinion that meet the "Judging Criteria" as stated above. In round two (2) the judges will hold a roundtable of discussions and select a winner from the first round of selected entries. Winners will be selected on or about April 10, 2010 and notified by e-mail on April 12, 2010. Decisions of the Sponsors and Judges are final and binding. Sponsors reserve the right not to award all awards in the event an insufficient number of eligible entries meeting the minimum judging criteria are received, as determined by Sponsors and Judges in their sole discretion. LIG is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry. Winners may be asked to sign an affidavit of eligibility and grant of rights, and to submit model releases and comments required for publication. By entering contestants certify that photo(s) are original, their own, they own the copyright to the image, and do not infringe on any third-party rights. Entrants will retain the rights to their photographs. Entrants allow us the right to use your image in promotional activities for Light Ideas Gallery, including display upon our website, brochures, and e-mail advertising. Entries which contain profanity, pornographic subjects, violence, illegal material, confidential information, trade secrets, trademarks, or copyrighted material belonging to any person or entity other than the entrant will be not be accepted. Entries not complying with the rules set forth above will be disqualified. LIG is solely responsible for the administration of the Exhibition, and sponsors are in no way affiliated with the Exhibition or liable for any matters arising due to the Exhibition.
